Emily K. Slaughter, MA, LPC-S

  I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC),  Board Approved Licensed Professional Counselor  Supervisor (LPC-S) and National Certified Counselor (NCC) with over 10 years experience in the mental health field.  I hold a Bachelors of Science in Psychology and a Masters of Arts in Professional Counseling from Texas State University (formerly Southwest Texas State University).  In my graduate program, I specialized in Marriage and Family Therapy and studied Play Therapy and Sand Tray Therapy. 

  I am a professional member of the American Counseling Association.

  My professional experience includes group and individual therapy from local agencies, pain management therapy, and drug and alcohol counseling. I have worked in the school setting with kinder through seniors in  high school. 

  I have worked with individual and groups on issues such as family issues, divorce, depression, anxiety, bi-polar disorder, anger management, eating disorders, social skills and grief and loss.

   I am a native Austinite.  I enjoy cooking, organizing and chasing my three young children around! I have a teenager, elementary age child and pre-schooler.
